Introductions of all present
Discussion President Darla Hamlin introduced guest Brian Sites, Chrmn, Recreation Committee, who has been instrumental in developing a “Town Brand” for North Yarmouth.  Brian presented a final mockup of the new logo, which strives to unify a sense of community, history, and economy.  The Brand can connect people, plans and actions, involving many different activities, committees, and resources.  “Start Here” is the theme, North Yarmouth, the Town where others began.  The Board of Selectmen is reviewing for final approval, and organizations will have the opportunity to adopt this unifying logo by meeting guidelines for use.  The plan is to display the logo at parks, memorials, entries to Town, and at businesses.  Brian noted the logo was developed locally !Michael Babin motioned to accept the 4/9/15 minutes, seconded and approved.Thaddeus motioned to continue our twice monthly meetings over the summer, seconded and approved.

Karen Morrison suggested that we ask a representative from each of the Town Committees to come speak at NYBA future meetings.  That idea was readily accepted and Darla felt we should also extend speaking invites to other NY entities such as the Memorial Park Corporation.

The Fun Day Booklet is in process, if you wish to sponsor or advertise you should contact Darla or Leslie.

Darla announced a fundraising effort is underway for the rededication of Memorial Park.

Darla will approach the Board of Selectmen about our idea to form an actual committee like Welcome Wagon, for new Town residents, businesses in Town can include brochures, small gifts, etc. to a welcome packet to introduce themselves to new residents.  This could also be a way to re-engage residents who have moved here within the last five years, perhaps draw more membership.

On the new proposal to tax “services” it was noted that at present “professional” services seem to remain exempt.

The first round of bids is in for sewer project, RFP going out for second round of bids.
