Attendance Michael Babin, Rob & Leslie Taisey, Mary Conroy,  Marilyn Matthews, Katie Murphy
Meeting called to order at 7:05 AM by Mary Conroy.
Presentation Guest speaker Katie Murphy from Univoice Personal History, a fifteen year old business in No. Yarmouth.  Katie by occupation is a writer and graphic designer.  She specializes in book, and audio memoirs.  She belongs to the Assn. of Personal Historians (.org) a group of approx. 1000 members.  They try to prevent history, and personal stories, from becoming “lost” which typically happens in three to four generations. Personal Autobiographies can retain that history, Katie interviews individuals then turns their personal history into a book or disc, including photographs and historical items, or an audio recording.  The cost can range anywhere from $500 for  basic personal history to $10,000 for hard bound fullsized illustrated books.  She showed several of her completed projects at all cost levels, which were remarkably impressive.   She also does half hour consults for those who wish to develop a personal or family history on their own.  Her target clients are 45 – 60 year old people who have  info on their own and prior generations.  The important goal is that the history is not lost.
Discussion Members were complimentary of Mary Conroy’s efforts in developing a Facebook page for NYBA, AND the great visual email reminders to members of meetings & socials.  We also talked about having 30 second “elevator” speeches by members at the socials, and discussed a “calling” campaign to “bring a friend” or invite a current member back to meetings.  Marilyn will call Thad Day regarding approaching his neighbors about joining.Funday sponsorship, Leslie T will send the proper form and $300 check for NYBA’s sponsorship, voted and approved.
Reports Leslie Taisey lists account balance $1260.21, and stated two tradeshow participants are still outstanding in payment.  She will pursue that.

Meeting adjourned at 8:00 AM — Respectfully Submitted: Marilyn Matthews, Secretary
