Meeting called to order at 7:00 AM
Presentation In Thaddeaus Day’s absence Marilyn Matthews introduced Mark Cenci and Regina Krause, new owners of Stone’s Cafe & Bakery, a North Yarmouth landmark!  Regina and Mark purchased the Café in May of this year and have already made some very notable improvements to expand and brighten the space.  With more physical improvements planned, they intend to keep the most popular menu items in place, and add some new items.  As always their offerings are from scratch recipes made on premises! They also plan to expand the monthly “dinner” at Stone’s, to build a great family style event.  They  may also expand to some BYOB weekday dinners by reservation.  Some long term Staff have remained, Kathy, Pam and Carol.  Stone’s has a long list of loyal customers and their marketing is going well to attract new fans.  They are also looking for part time kitchen help !!  They’ll continue to offer great take out items, fill orders for baked goods, and may offer some “afternoon tea” events.
Discussion Marilyn has input emails to member list on website and is waiting to hear back from Tina Burnell on how to get that field to pull over the emails to the member page.Darla suggested that NYBA develop a “business of the month” feature on website that links to the town website.  Leslie is coordinating the tent / table setup for Funday.   Margie will place apples at our table and Regina suggested Stone’s donate some cookies to the table to draw people. It was suggested we look into use of Memorial School facility for the 2014 Trade Show, since the Grange is no more.  A meeting will be held Oct 17 – 18, 2013 regarding the future of that space and rebuilding the Grange, anyone interested can get info from Darla Hamlin or the communication subcommittee for the Town Board.  The tentative date set for 2014 Trade Show is March 7th.  Marilyn Matthews will check on rental fee to use that facility.

Brian Bartlett mentioned the Trade Show fee, and the fact that the event was so well received last year, if we have to pay to use another facility ( Grange was given at no fee last year) we likely have to increase the participation fee to $50.

Darla talked about the upcoming Veterans Day events on 11/11/13, the Korean War Veterans ceremony, which includes a parade from Cumberland to Yarmouth, then a lunch.  They are looking  for business sponsors in the event program.  You can also help them find local veterans.   Also she discussed the North Yarmouth Flag program – to sponsor the flag program is $50 up front, then $20 per year.

Marilyn will ask Mary Conroy if she can update the mailer for Trade Show to reflect new dates when established, and perhaps help us develop a “brochure” with some of the artwork she has already done.  We could also increase visibility by placing some at venues such as Stone’s, it was also suggested a “notice” board of some sort be put up at Stone’s where customers can access many types of event or Town information.

It was mentioned that NYBA perhaps should alternate the AM business meetings between Stone’s Café and Toddy Brook, or elect to have AM meetings at Stones and Socials at Toddy.  Next social is planned for Oct 10, 2013 at 5:30 pm at Toddy.

Reports Treasurer Leslie Taisey reports checking acct. balance of $1224.04 as of 8/31/13.

Meeting adjourned at 8:05 AM — Respectfully Submitted: Marilyn Matthews, Secretary
